Article Writing – The New SEO Master Tool

Article Writing – The New SEO Master Tool – Part II

Since search engines were invented, there has been a constant head to head between the search engine algorithm writers and webmasters. Every time the algorithms changed the webmasters tried to outwit them. The internet is full if conflicting SEO advice on how to achieve top rankings. This article hopes to clear up some of the confusion.

In the beginning it was sufficient to have an adequate amount of keywords on your website in order to rank highly in the search engines. This led to keyword spamming, a practice which still continues today amongst inexperienced webmasters.

Then along came Google and the goal posts shifted. Google put more emphasis on webpage linking, Their thought was simple – if one website had a link to another website, then it was as if the first website was placing a vote of confidence for the second website’s content and therefore the second website must be useful and relevant to the readers of the first website. Thus the Google Page Rank was invented.

Soon the webmasters and internet marketers got to work. This saw the emergence of link forms and reciprocal linking sites. Internet marketers declared that the more links that appeared on your site, the higher it would rank in Google. Suddenly link pages from websites started to run into multiple pages as the race was on to exchange links with whoever would agree. Some sites started to have thousands of links point to their sites and began rising in the search engine rankings.

Of course the game of cat and mouse with Google continued as the search engine giant once again changed its algorithms.

It is now widely accepted that previous linking strategies are failing because of what Google now expects from links.

RELEVANCY

Google expects links on a site to be relevant to the readers of the original site.

ONE WAY LINKS

Google gives a much higher priority to one-way links without a reciprocal link in return.

ANCHOR TEXT

It is better for the anchor text (the actual text that contains the link) to be keyword relevant to the content and also to vary as numerous instances of the same anchor text without variance can be interpreted as keyword spamming.

The importance placed on the above factors has all but eliminated the effectiveness of previous linking strategies. Most links on link page directories were exchanged with any site who would reciprocate. Therefore most of these sites were not relevant to the original site.

The reciprocal linking strategy also negates the one-way linking preferred by Google. Most link directories contain the same anchor text in all links, as this anchor text was advertised on the “link to us” page.

Therefore Google now looks upon these reciprocal link directories as having no value. They do not distribute page rank and therefore do not help the ranking of your website.

That is why I now describe article writing as the new SEO Master Tool – please see Part II of this article for the reasoning.

Article Writing – The New SEO Master Tool – Part II

Article writing is now a major weapon in search engine optimisation. If you have read Part I of this article you will see why previous linking strategies are failing miserably. As the major search engine, Google now expects links in order to increase your site ranking to be:

1 Relevant
2 Varying Anchor Text
3 One Way Links

These rules display that more of a natural linking strategy need to be evolved.

Writing expert articles about the content of your website helps to achieve the three objectives above.

First of all, you are able to place links within the resource box of your article pointing back to your website. Some article directories even allow you to place links within the article body itself. Therefore any link text that points back to your website is highly relevant to the article content itself, and your sire.

It is possible to vary the anchor text from article to article while still keeping it keyword orientated and most importantly, relevant.

By submitting your article to article submission sites, you are not committed to place a reciprocal link back to the article site on your website. This ensures that the link to your website is one way.

By writing many quality articles, you will start to be recognised as an expert in your field.

You can see how writing articles about the subject of your website can be a master SEO tool. However, things get even better.

Ezine authors and webmasters also regularly scour these sites for fresh content for their ezines and websites. Your article is free to be distributed and republished as long as it remains intact, with the resource box and all links live.

What this means is that each article can potentially create hundreds or thousands of backlinks to your website, each of them relevant, varying in anchor text and one way. Not bad for about 30 minutes work. So the advice is simple – get writing, or if you feel unable to write your own articles, get someone to write them for you!

What Are The Real Benefits Of Unique Content?

As search engines become increasingly difficult to accept duplicate articles, I think that writing unique content is much more important than it was before.

Why do you write articles? For example, I write this article for various very important reasons. One of them is that after reading this article, people will click on my link and go to my website. That’s it – no more and no less. I need my articles for traffic and of course I’m doing all that is required to get it.
And I think you are writing content for the same reason, right? You want to get visitors to your website. And in this case is very likely that you want to generate more and more unique content for your products or services, with the purpose to continuously attract more and more visitors.

My question is do you get the most of the traffic from the article that you write? Do you have at least 10-20 visitors per day from each article written? Why do I ask you all these questions?

Well, usually when I write 10 stories, I have around 100-200 unique visitors per day, who go to my website. Then my question is what can you do with another 100-200 visitors per day and how would you attract them? The answer is simple – once they see that you write good and unique content, they will simply come! That’s it and it is so simple and powerful – unique content attracts visitors just like the honey attracts bees!
By the way, once you have written hundreds of articles, you will start writing much faster than before. But let’s get back to the main topic – as an Internet user, you will not want to read the same information over and over again, right?

So, in order to make your readers interested in reading your content, you must provide content that is always unique! Except unique content, your articles also must be user-friendly to read. Your article should be written in a clear, concise and informative tone.
If necessary, discuss a particular aspect in detail or hypertext links, so the user can click on them and go to your website. You can also include some sub-themes and this will be very helpful as well. And if you are willing to use a really user-friendly article rewriter, which will provide you tons of unique content in a matter of seconds, it will be even more helpful for you!

You have to keep a clear conversational tone towards your readers! A very useful tip will be learning how to make optimistic and very eye-catching introduction with the use of jargon or technical terms that are always talking about the positive reasons about why and how your readers will get the benefits from reading your article.

If you keep these simple advices and tips, you are guaranteed to get fast results, but remember that you have to always write original content, which is really the king in terms of article marketing.

Article Submission Is Useless

Article Submission Is Useless…Unless You Know What Your Doing

Article Submission is a great way to get traffic to your site, but in some cases, articles are wasted in a directory that have so many articles on so many topics that people looking for a topic just get overwhelmed and look for something else. If you submit your articles to large directories with thousands of other articles about every topic, what is the chance that you article will be viewed? What is the chance that it will be published somewhere else? The truth is that it is not an easy thing to get your article discovered by a website owner and re-published especially if you are not a proffessional writer. The key to making your article submissions more worthwhile is to submit to specialized directories.

You might be thinking that these specific directories are not as good because they do not get as much traffic and they might not. The reality is that they probably get as much traffic or more traffic that is targeted to the specific niche. This way you know that every person that goes to that directory is looking for an article like yours. Broad article directories are great; I only use them when I cannot find a directory for the topic f my article (just like this one).

The idea of submitting articles to specific article directories is revolutionary. This is a way to get your articles published in a place where every single people is looking for an article similar to yours so there is a higher chance of being re-published. I saw an example of such a directory when I was looking for articles to fill my site about “fishing”. What I found was amazing, the site had many features that a regular information/shopping site would have but they also had an additional area where you could submit and republish articles that they posted. I found a countless amount of information and in no time I had a 50-page website within the day and my site had already been spidered by Google by the end of the month after I wrote my own articles for that directory.

These article directories are not easy to find though when you type “article directories” in a search engine. They use different key words. This is a problem because it is hard to know what key words will be found by imputing a key word in a search engine. To find them you have to type in a more specific search phrase. For example, if you are looking for articles for fishing you might want to type in, “fishing article directory”. This will locate any fishining related website as well as directories for fishing packed with articles on the topic.

Submitting your articles to directories are a great way to get your site many backlinks as well as giving you a reputation for being an expert on the topic. If you send your niche articles to directories with a broad range of catagories and sub catagories and sub sub catagories, you will have a lot of trouble competing with the pofessional writers. What you want to do is find a specified directory with articles focusing on a certain topic, this way you have a higher chance to get you articles published all over the internet faster then you can imagine.

Google PR

Article submission can help to make more web site sales, generate more traffic, increase your Google PR and even boost your Alexa rating. If done frequently and correctly, article submissions can help you to gain higher rankings on Google, Yahoo, and MSN. That will help drive more targeted visitors to your web site. Article Submission is a powerful search engine optimization tactic of gaining quality one way links to your sites. While there is some debate among SEO experts, most agree that article submission is among the best free methods of building free one way links.

Article submission can save hours of your time in getting one way links to your web site. Article submission is one proven link building strategy. Articles usually shouldn’t have more than two links in the Author Bio section and html is not allowed in the body, for the best approval results. Article writing and submission can give you high quality one way links and can result in a higher page rank in comparison to other SEO techniques.

These links will often help to increase your Google PR and move up your relevance in the search engine results. As you are probably aware, the PR of a web site that is pointing to yours plays a role in determining the value of your own web site in Google PR calculations, there by increasing your chances of gaining ground in the Search Engine Ranking Pages. The smaller directories with low page rank can also help to improve your Google PR. Articles are usually crawled very quickly and in most cases can be found in the SE’s in just a few days.

With submission software, you have to manage the submissions based on a list in the software, which may need to be updated occasionally. A good rule is to put the more comprehensive writing on your own web site and make a shorter version for submissions to other websites. Article submission software is one of the best internet marketing tools. There are many software solutions out there that can help to cut down the time for article submissions.

Your First Viral Marketing Tool

One of the most important aspects of having success online is to use your limited marketing and time resources in the most effective way possible. In other words, you need to get as much return on your investment as you can by spending the smallest amount of resources (which could be monetary or time-related). For Internet marketing, there is one excellent strategy that answers all of the requirements from above – it’s called viral marketing.

Through viral marketing you initiate an action and then allow it to propagate, much like water ripples would do in a pond if you threw a rock in the water. The whole concept uses the “word of mouth” idea, but is ads the speed and efficiency of virtual communication.

On the Internet, a viral marketing campaign may bring your website a huge amount of traffic for an initial investment that is almost negligible.

One of the most important, effective and easy to use tools of viral marketing is the process of submitting articles to directories – let’s have a look at how this works and why it’s so effective in Internet Marketing.

How does it work?

The process is simple and you don’t need any programming skills to initiate a viral marketing campaign. Simply write a high quality article, or commission someone else to do it for you. Choose a topic that is related to your website, but make sure it addresses issues that are of general interest in the target audience.

For example, if you own a site on dog training or dog products, you might want to write a more general article on this topic, as that has a better chance of spreading around. Add a “resource box” at the end of the article, writing about yourself in the 3rd person and describing your website.

Also make sure to add at least one active link in your resource box – note that some directories will require you to place HTML code with your links in order to make them active. Here is what the link code should look like:

Site Name

Of course, replace the URL and the description of the site to suit your needs. Your article is good to go and now it’s time to submit it to several directories, for increased efficiency. Make sure to choose the appropriate category where the site will appear. It also helps if you can find some niche-specific article directories. Some great resources to submit your articles to are:

o http://www.MyContentBuilder.com
o http://www.MyPetContent.com
o http://www.Buzzle.com
o http://www.EzineArticles.com

Getting back to the dog training site example from above, you might want to look for specific, pet-resource oriented directories. The efficiency of submitting to specialized directories is a lot higher than general content directories, but there are also fewer of them and it’s hard to locate more than a bunch of really good ones. A great pet related resource to submit articles is:

o http://www.MyPetContent.com

If you are already submitting articles, but you’re looking for an easier and faster method, you might want to try an automatic article submitter. It will submit your article to over 30 directories in half an hour. To watch a video on how to do this, go to:

Article Writing for the Nervous

Article Marketing is the hottest way of marketing your web sites, but writing does not come naturally to many people. We’ll show you an easier way to start your writing career.
All through school and then maybe college or university, even as the writing became more detailed and longer. No matter how many times you have done it, writing is probably a task that many of your have continuously avoided. Now at a time when writing articles could help your job or work, facing the job at hand can be daunting.

I’m one of those strange people that enjoy writing, but even I get stumped some times and while there are a great number of people who do like writing, there are still those who would rather walk on hot coals than write an article. So for those people and the ones who like writing and would prefer to be more prepared here are some hints and methods that might help you.

Step 1: Prepare an outline or template first.
One of the best pieces of advice that I was given, many years ago, and which I still use in my consultancy is:
“Tell them what you are going to tell them. Tell them. Tell them why you told them.”
Roughly translated into an outline this is:
• Pick a subject
• Introduce it
• Go into your detail
• Conclude as to why this was important.
Another template to think of – and one that gets published often is:
“Ten Reasons Why”, “Top Ten Ideas”, “Seven Solutions”
Well you get the idea.
Step 2: Pick your topic
Pick something you know about and start jotting down ideas. I find it easy to pick a temporary title sometimes other times I work on the subject and then the title just comes along on it’s on.
The Top Ten is always the easiest and as it is a popular one with ezine publishers maybe you should make this your first one.
Maybe it is something for dog lovers so you could have:
• Top 10 best ways to make sure your dog gets its walk.
• Top 10 ways to meet other dog walkers
• Top 10 best ways to raise pups
Well you get the idea.
Step 3: Headings and Summaries

The first sentence for your article, should immediately grab the attention of your reader and introduce the subject of your article.
Many article sites ask for a summary of the article as well. The summary is used in two places:
• On the article site as a part of the search process
• On the search engine entry that links to where the article is on the article site
So you can see that this is the place to pique the imagination of the potential reader as well as get you well placed in the search engines.
Step 4: Add the Content

You should now be in full writing mode and able to jot down the rest of the article, remembering the conclusion. Read it through several times – but don’t expect perfection.
The more interesting the article is, the more people will read and remember it.
The best ezine articles are between 300 and 750 words long. I have written longer articles of 1,000 to 1,250 words, and had them featured on web sites, but long articles don’t fare well in ezines. So pick your market and try to get the right length for your choice of publication.

Step 5: The Resource Box
This is the reason for writing. The resource box is the 4 -7 lines that sits on the end of the article. The format should be as:
• Your Copyrights
• 2-4 lines about your expertise. You can usually include up to 3 hyperlinks. Affiliate links are generally not allowed – so give your web site address.
• The terms of using your article – the expression “You may print this article without charge, provided this resource box remains intact.”
Now that is it.

Article Writing: Can It Help My Direct Sales Business?

Question: How can I get long-term advertising for my Direct Sales website without spending a fortune?

Very often, people in Direct Sales don’t realize they can benefit from the same methods of internet marketing that other online businesses use. Writing and submitting articles is one of those methods of marketing that is extremely effective for Direct Sales businesses.

If you’re unfamiliar with the way article marketing works, basically, you write and give away helpful, informative articles. Why would you work so hard and give away your information? Look at the bottom of this article. There you’ll see my name and a brief bit of information about what I do. I didn’t pay for that advertising. It’s free.

So, how does it work? You write an article about a topic that you are interested in – usually one that relates in some way to your business. If you sell makeup, there’s no point in writing about forest fires. So, show your expertise and share your love of what you do in a brief article. Then you’ll want to find article directories that will accept your article. You’ll submit your articles to the directories, including your author bio and a link to your website.

Website publishers, blog owners, and ezine publishers will search the directories and find interesting articles to share with their readers. When they use one of your articles, they’ll include your author bio at the end with a clickable link to your website. Voila. You just scored some free traffic.

As long as your company allows you to link to your website, (and I realize that some don’t) – you can use article writing to grow your customer list and your team.

If your company does not allow links to your website, you may be able to set up a lead generation page to get people’s information. Or you can send them to a newsletter sign up page where you can get them on a list where you may talk more freely about your products in your newsletter. Just be sure to check with your company policies and procedures before investing too much time and energy into writing articles.

Now get writing!

Article Writing: Easy or Difficult?

I’m going to tell you a story about a man that flunked out of school at the age of 16. It was so bad at school that the only A’s he got were in physical education. When he was in junior high he never did any work in English because he hated it so much. Of course, if you don’t have good English, your reading suffers too.

He didn’t like school at all. He would hook out of school and go to work; he was only 13 years old (he looked a lot older). He went to summer school every year just to get through junior high. I think they just pushed him through because he doesn’t remember doing anything but showing up.

Why am I telling you this? Because the same man that flunked English every year and quit school at the age of 16 is a successful Internet marketer. And guess what he does. He helps people to discover multiple ways to quickly create content for websites, articles, autoresponders and any other type of content. And you’re right – it’s me.

One day my best friend Lori, who is also my partner, was talking about starting a home business. We both like to travel and we wanted our business to be portable. We came up with this idea of working on the Internet. We picked a guru program and put everything in it that we could.

In the program, there was a lot of reading and writing. I had cold feet right from the start. Lori knew that I had problems with reading and writing. My writing was so bad that when I used spell-check I could swear the computer was smoking and I was dreading it. Me. Of all people.

But Lori saw something in me and figured a way around it. She had me first start just doing some research on keywords. I wasn’t too bad just checking out some single words or phrases. After I did that for awhile then she said that our websites needed to be blogged. What the heck is a blog? Did I tell you that the only thing I knew about a computer was how to fly my flight simulator? Not even how to write or send an e-mail. When she mentioned writing a blog, I didn’t know what to think. She told me that she would show me how to write just a few lines.

I’d write a few lines about our different web sites. Every time I wrote a blog I would have to ask her to make sure everything was spelled okay. All day long I would do research on keywords and I would try to write blogs. Lori would read them and correct my spelling.

Then one day Lori said I should write an article about something that I have a passion about. She said, don’t worry about the spelling; just write down what you know. I started doing what she asked. I had no idea where she was going with this. When your spelling is not good, your typing is even worse. I think my top speed was about six words a minute. It took me awhile to put things down. But I did what she asked and didn’t think about it anymore.

One night Lori said, Jeff come here I want to show you something. You are now a published author. I said there is no way that I could be a published author. Lori edited my so-called articles and submitted them. See you can write, she says. My response was, you must have rewrote the whole article and just put my name on it. When I read it, it was my words but spelled right.

I could not believe what she did. It opened my eyes and made me realize that I can write articles and even e-books. My point to all this is, if a high school dropout that flunked out of English every year can write articles and e-books so can you.
