Article Submission Is Useless

Article Submission Is Useless…Unless You Know What Your Doing

Article Submission is a great way to get traffic to your site, but in some cases, articles are wasted in a directory that have so many articles on so many topics that people looking for a topic just get overwhelmed and look for something else. If you submit your articles to large directories with thousands of other articles about every topic, what is the chance that you article will be viewed? What is the chance that it will be published somewhere else? The truth is that it is not an easy thing to get your article discovered by a website owner and re-published especially if you are not a proffessional writer. The key to making your article submissions more worthwhile is to submit to specialized directories.

You might be thinking that these specific directories are not as good because they do not get as much traffic and they might not. The reality is that they probably get as much traffic or more traffic that is targeted to the specific niche. This way you know that every person that goes to that directory is looking for an article like yours. Broad article directories are great; I only use them when I cannot find a directory for the topic f my article (just like this one).

The idea of submitting articles to specific article directories is revolutionary. This is a way to get your articles published in a place where every single people is looking for an article similar to yours so there is a higher chance of being re-published. I saw an example of such a directory when I was looking for articles to fill my site about “fishing”. What I found was amazing, the site had many features that a regular information/shopping site would have but they also had an additional area where you could submit and republish articles that they posted. I found a countless amount of information and in no time I had a 50-page website within the day and my site had already been spidered by Google by the end of the month after I wrote my own articles for that directory.

These article directories are not easy to find though when you type “article directories” in a search engine. They use different key words. This is a problem because it is hard to know what key words will be found by imputing a key word in a search engine. To find them you have to type in a more specific search phrase. For example, if you are looking for articles for fishing you might want to type in, “fishing article directory”. This will locate any fishining related website as well as directories for fishing packed with articles on the topic.

Submitting your articles to directories are a great way to get your site many backlinks as well as giving you a reputation for being an expert on the topic. If you send your niche articles to directories with a broad range of catagories and sub catagories and sub sub catagories, you will have a lot of trouble competing with the pofessional writers. What you want to do is find a specified directory with articles focusing on a certain topic, this way you have a higher chance to get you articles published all over the internet faster then you can imagine.

Article Writing for the Nervous

Article Marketing is the hottest way of marketing your web sites, but writing does not come naturally to many people. We’ll show you an easier way to start your writing career.
All through school and then maybe college or university, even as the writing became more detailed and longer. No matter how many times you have done it, writing is probably a task that many of your have continuously avoided. Now at a time when writing articles could help your job or work, facing the job at hand can be daunting.

I’m one of those strange people that enjoy writing, but even I get stumped some times and while there are a great number of people who do like writing, there are still those who would rather walk on hot coals than write an article. So for those people and the ones who like writing and would prefer to be more prepared here are some hints and methods that might help you.

Step 1: Prepare an outline or template first.
One of the best pieces of advice that I was given, many years ago, and which I still use in my consultancy is:
“Tell them what you are going to tell them. Tell them. Tell them why you told them.”
Roughly translated into an outline this is:
• Pick a subject
• Introduce it
• Go into your detail
• Conclude as to why this was important.
Another template to think of – and one that gets published often is:
“Ten Reasons Why”, “Top Ten Ideas”, “Seven Solutions”
Well you get the idea.
Step 2: Pick your topic
Pick something you know about and start jotting down ideas. I find it easy to pick a temporary title sometimes other times I work on the subject and then the title just comes along on it’s on.
The Top Ten is always the easiest and as it is a popular one with ezine publishers maybe you should make this your first one.
Maybe it is something for dog lovers so you could have:
• Top 10 best ways to make sure your dog gets its walk.
• Top 10 ways to meet other dog walkers
• Top 10 best ways to raise pups
Well you get the idea.
Step 3: Headings and Summaries

The first sentence for your article, should immediately grab the attention of your reader and introduce the subject of your article.
Many article sites ask for a summary of the article as well. The summary is used in two places:
• On the article site as a part of the search process
• On the search engine entry that links to where the article is on the article site
So you can see that this is the place to pique the imagination of the potential reader as well as get you well placed in the search engines.
Step 4: Add the Content

You should now be in full writing mode and able to jot down the rest of the article, remembering the conclusion. Read it through several times – but don’t expect perfection.
The more interesting the article is, the more people will read and remember it.
The best ezine articles are between 300 and 750 words long. I have written longer articles of 1,000 to 1,250 words, and had them featured on web sites, but long articles don’t fare well in ezines. So pick your market and try to get the right length for your choice of publication.

Step 5: The Resource Box
This is the reason for writing. The resource box is the 4 -7 lines that sits on the end of the article. The format should be as:
• Your Copyrights
• 2-4 lines about your expertise. You can usually include up to 3 hyperlinks. Affiliate links are generally not allowed – so give your web site address.
• The terms of using your article – the expression “You may print this article without charge, provided this resource box remains intact.”
Now that is it.

Article Writing: Can It Help My Direct Sales Business?

Question: How can I get long-term advertising for my Direct Sales website without spending a fortune?

Very often, people in Direct Sales don’t realize they can benefit from the same methods of internet marketing that other online businesses use. Writing and submitting articles is one of those methods of marketing that is extremely effective for Direct Sales businesses.

If you’re unfamiliar with the way article marketing works, basically, you write and give away helpful, informative articles. Why would you work so hard and give away your information? Look at the bottom of this article. There you’ll see my name and a brief bit of information about what I do. I didn’t pay for that advertising. It’s free.

So, how does it work? You write an article about a topic that you are interested in – usually one that relates in some way to your business. If you sell makeup, there’s no point in writing about forest fires. So, show your expertise and share your love of what you do in a brief article. Then you’ll want to find article directories that will accept your article. You’ll submit your articles to the directories, including your author bio and a link to your website.

Website publishers, blog owners, and ezine publishers will search the directories and find interesting articles to share with their readers. When they use one of your articles, they’ll include your author bio at the end with a clickable link to your website. Voila. You just scored some free traffic.

As long as your company allows you to link to your website, (and I realize that some don’t) – you can use article writing to grow your customer list and your team.

If your company does not allow links to your website, you may be able to set up a lead generation page to get people’s information. Or you can send them to a newsletter sign up page where you can get them on a list where you may talk more freely about your products in your newsletter. Just be sure to check with your company policies and procedures before investing too much time and energy into writing articles.

Now get writing!

Article Writing: Easy or Difficult?

I’m going to tell you a story about a man that flunked out of school at the age of 16. It was so bad at school that the only A’s he got were in physical education. When he was in junior high he never did any work in English because he hated it so much. Of course, if you don’t have good English, your reading suffers too.

He didn’t like school at all. He would hook out of school and go to work; he was only 13 years old (he looked a lot older). He went to summer school every year just to get through junior high. I think they just pushed him through because he doesn’t remember doing anything but showing up.

Why am I telling you this? Because the same man that flunked English every year and quit school at the age of 16 is a successful Internet marketer. And guess what he does. He helps people to discover multiple ways to quickly create content for websites, articles, autoresponders and any other type of content. And you’re right – it’s me.

One day my best friend Lori, who is also my partner, was talking about starting a home business. We both like to travel and we wanted our business to be portable. We came up with this idea of working on the Internet. We picked a guru program and put everything in it that we could.

In the program, there was a lot of reading and writing. I had cold feet right from the start. Lori knew that I had problems with reading and writing. My writing was so bad that when I used spell-check I could swear the computer was smoking and I was dreading it. Me. Of all people.

But Lori saw something in me and figured a way around it. She had me first start just doing some research on keywords. I wasn’t too bad just checking out some single words or phrases. After I did that for awhile then she said that our websites needed to be blogged. What the heck is a blog? Did I tell you that the only thing I knew about a computer was how to fly my flight simulator? Not even how to write or send an e-mail. When she mentioned writing a blog, I didn’t know what to think. She told me that she would show me how to write just a few lines.

I’d write a few lines about our different web sites. Every time I wrote a blog I would have to ask her to make sure everything was spelled okay. All day long I would do research on keywords and I would try to write blogs. Lori would read them and correct my spelling.

Then one day Lori said I should write an article about something that I have a passion about. She said, don’t worry about the spelling; just write down what you know. I started doing what she asked. I had no idea where she was going with this. When your spelling is not good, your typing is even worse. I think my top speed was about six words a minute. It took me awhile to put things down. But I did what she asked and didn’t think about it anymore.

One night Lori said, Jeff come here I want to show you something. You are now a published author. I said there is no way that I could be a published author. Lori edited my so-called articles and submitted them. See you can write, she says. My response was, you must have rewrote the whole article and just put my name on it. When I read it, it was my words but spelled right.

I could not believe what she did. It opened my eyes and made me realize that I can write articles and even e-books. My point to all this is, if a high school dropout that flunked out of English every year can write articles and e-books so can you.

Article Submission – Benefits of Submitting to Directories

The benefits of article submissions are often neglected by many webmasters who would rather pay for expensive online advertising (with short to mid-term results) rather than develop a long term marketing campaign. And article submission is one of the most effective long term strategies.

* Article submission is free – this is one of the few Internet marketing strategies that can have better results than expensive pay per click campaigns or other similar forms of paid advertising. Submitting articles to directories is free, because the webmasters of the directories are always looking for fresh and original content.

As long as it meets their quality standards, reputable article directories will gladly publish your article.

* Submissions are fast – creating an account with an article directory may take around 2-3 minutes, but you only have to do it once. You should create at least 20-30 accounts with different directories to give your submitted articles more exposure.

With the account already created, it may take another 2-3 minutes to input all the required fields for the article (title, summary, keywords, body text, and resource box).

You can submit your article to at least a dozen directories an hour – and it would probably take around 3 or 4 good hours for a very effective submission campaign to a large number of directories.

* There is also the bulk submit option some directories offer – that is also an excellent way to submit your articles, but most directories will charge a small fee for it. In many cases, the fee is so small that it is really effective to submit your articles this way.

Article submission can be tedious, which is why you may want to consider an automatic article submitter. It will submit one article to over 30 directories in half an hour. To watch a video on how to accomplish this, go to:

* They promote your website – when a reader goes through your article and deems it valuable and informative, chances are he or she will want to visit your website for even more resources. They can easily access your URL from the resource box you provided.

Of course, your article has to actually impress the reader and make him want to find out more – so high quality is a necessity here.

* They have the viral power – the nice thing about article submissions is that they have a huge viral marketing effect. Webmasters and blog owners are often readers of the directories and many of them will publish your article on their own websites and blogs, keeping the credentials and resource box intact.

This means that although you may only submit your article to 50 directories, chances are that in a couple of weeks or months, hundreds of other websites and blogs will have the article published, granting you more exposure and, thus, higher traffic numbers.

* Article submissions are great for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) – since most search engines place a high value on one-way links going towards your website, submitted articles are a real “gold mine” from a SEO point of view.

Combine the power of one way links with the viral effect of high quality articles, and you will soon get the big picture on why article submissions are rated among the most effective online marketing tools.

Article Marketing To Boost Site Traffic

You’ve been writing great articles for your website or blog, keyword rich, insightful pieces that should be studied in marketing classes. You’ve probably seen an increase in site traffic since you started writing using SEO. But there’s another way to use the articles that you’re already writing to boost traffic even more.

Publish them on other sites.

It’s simple math. Your site receives 200 hits a day. Site B receives 500. If you get an article published on Site B, your site and marketing links are exposed to 700 people.

Unfortunately, this can be easier said than done. You have to convince the editor or webmaster of Site B that your article is more worthy of publication than Joe Schmoe’s about the same subject. If you think you can, then you are all set to start your very own article marketing campaign and boost traffic to your site. Here’re some hints to sell articles for your article marketing campaign.

ARTICLE MARKETING STARTS WITH THE E-MAIL TO A PUBLISHER SITE

E-mail has become one of those quick forms of communication. We type them out real quick, using the first words and phrases that come to mind, and then send them off without a second thought, like leaving a voicemail. But in the case of article marketing (and everything else you use e-mail for), the e-mail is the first writing sample a buyer will read. If your e-mail is not professional and well written, there is no reason for a buyer to move onto the actual article. You will have failed the ever important first impression.

This is a failure that can be avoided by taking the time to edit the e-mail. Make sure that there are no grammatical mistakes, that your sentences make sense, and that you don’t have more words necessary. Other things like making sure the subject line is eye catching or addressing the e-mail to a specific person instead of a company or a “To Whom It May Concern” can make your article stand out in the crowd.

MARKET ARTICLES TO THE APPROPRIATE SITES

This one sounds like a no brainer, but at least now you can’t say nobody told you. Make sure that you send your articles to places that will actually publish them. This obviously applies to content (don’t send an article about high New York Society to a Mountain Climber’s website), but this also applies to style and voice and things like that. If you’re an edgy, sarcastic writer, you probably don’t want to be submitting to a serious, boring site. They simply won’t publish your article, and your article marketing campaign will be a waste.

Also, don’t just write an article and then try to get it published. This method might produce some results, but they will be few and far between and will require a lot of time and selling. Instead, write your articles with a specific site in mind. Go and read other articles on the site. Know the voice and structure of the already published articles. Review the submissions guidelines. Be familiar with policies. In the e-mail, include reasons that your article is a perfect match for their site. An article written with purpose for a specific site or group of sites will be more successful than one written without a destination in mind.

GRAMMAR, GRAMMAR, GRAMMAR

The whole point of article marketing is to convince people to click on the link to your site that you’ve included in your byline. You will lose a lot of credibility if your article is full of grammatical mistakes and poorly thought out sentences. Write several drafts of your articles. Make sure you’re saying what you mean. Once your article is perfect, have someone else read it to make sure you’re not blind. You’d be amazed what you miss in your own writing, even if you’re a professional editor. Doing this will A. Make editors more likely to accept your work and B. Give the reader the impression that you are professional, which will in turn make them try to find out what else you have to say.

REFER BACK TO YOUR OTHER ARTICLE WITH LINKS

If you can, include links in the body of your e-mail that will lead back to your site. After all, that is the entire point of article marketing. A good way to do this is to refer to an article that you’ve written in the past that is ‘coincidentally’ posted only on your website. People like more information, and if you tell them there is more on another site, chances are that they’ll go there, and you just got another hit.

Be careful not to overuse this technique. Too many links will make them commonplace and readers won’t notice them. Including one or two makes them special and probably worthwhile. Also, don’t link to irrelevant articles. Readers will just get annoyed and not browse around your site. The object of article marketing is to get people exploring your site. If they wind up at a random article, they’ll just close the window and go back to what they were reading, instead of stumbling across your affiliate marketing links.

SIGN YOUR WORK

Don’t ever forget about the signature or byline at the end of your article. This should include your name, of course, but also a link directly to your site’s homepage. You might also consider linking to a few related articles that are posted on your site. Anyone who enjoyed the article will take the time to see who wrote it and what their background or own personal ventures are, and chances are, they’ll click on the link to read more by you. The signature section is the climax of your article marketing campaign. It is where you are trying to guide readers with your article so they will see your links and visit your site and make you money. It’s that simple.

Article Marketing Tips

I have been writing articles and submitting them to various article directories for around a year now. When I started I felt very fresh and had plenty to write about. After a few months however, I started to get what is known as writers block. I could not think of anything else to write about. In this article I give advice about how to react when this happens, advice which I hope will help you to continue to write quality and original articles.

My name is Steve Hill and my line of business is as a speech coach. I developed a stutter when I was four years of age and it continued to affect my life for the next eighteen years. I have managed to overcome this speech impediment and as a career I now help other people to achieve fluency. I feel I know quite a lot about the subject and found it quite easy and enjoyable to write about all aspects of stuttering.

After a while I could not think of anything new to write about stuttering, which would be of value to people and made the mistake or re-writing some of the articles using different words. I must admit I was unaware that this was against the rules but now realise that each article needs to have original content, which I accept and understand.

I then wrote about some of the experiences from my own life, like how I coped when my now ex-girlfriend left me and even stories about my dog! A number of people have read these articles and have sent me some very nice e-mails stating how much they have enjoyed them.

One morning I woke up with very good intentions, I was planning on writing three or four new articles. I turned on the computer and basically sat there. Come on write something, I tried to tell myself. The problem was that I could not think of anything to write about. I decided to go back to bed. I seem to be able to think clearer from my bed, a bit weird I know.

I decided that I was not only going to write about my own life and experiences but I would also write about my family and friends. Other areas I could write about would be:

How to promote a website

Web design

Self confidence

Travel

World affairs

Sport

Exercise

Weight loss

Stress management

Anger management

Business

These are all areas I have a great interest in and even though they are not my main line of business, the articles should be of interest to people. Most of the topics which I have listed are things which I or people I know, have had experiences with. For example a lot of people who stutter including myself in the past, have issues with their self-confidence.

Weight loss is subject which is close to my heart as I have had many problems in controlling my own weight. I also run my own business and therefore have had to learn aspects about how to do this.

I also love playing and watching sport. This was therefore something else which I then concentrated on and I have now written articles on snooker and football.

To gain inspiration and to help me to write my articles, I read a lot of books and newspapers and I also like to watch the news and current affairs programs on the television.

I hope this article has been of help to you and please feel free to read and re-print more of the articles I have written.
